On a tiny 37 by 52 foot lot in the center of a beautiful Mexican town of cobbled stone streets and colorful bougainvillea, this compound is a retreat, a refuge, and a place for internal focus and personal growth. The main living spaces on the lower floor flow into a central garden courtyard with guest quarters and studio upstairs, all interwoven into a complex little village. The journeys between the spaces and the vistas to and through them give form. Some materials are old, some details are traditional, but it all comes together, linked with ribbons of steel and beads of glass in concrete and stone.
